Touche Vanity Fair, Touche

:::"We here at Vanity Fair maintain a kind of affectionate rivalry with our downstairs neighbors at The New Yorker. We play softball every year, compete for some of the same stories, and share an elevator bank. (You can tell the ones who are headed to the 20th floor by their Brooklyn pallor and dog-eared paperbacks.)

And heaven knows we’ve published our share of scandalous images, on the cover and otherwise. So we’ve been watching the kerfuffle over last week’s New Yorker cover with a mixture of empathy and better-you-than-us relief.

We had our own presidential campaign cover in the works, which explored a different facet of the Politics of Fear, but we shelved it when The New Yorker’s became the “It Girl” of the blogosphere. Now, however, in a selfless act of solidarity with our downstairs neighbors here at the Condé Nast building, we’d like to share it with you. Confidentially, of course."

Tucker Max

:::This guy is a total asshole, and I absolutely love him. My friend Eugene turned me on to Tucker Max's blog, a glittering beacon of drunken womanizing inspiration for all 20-something American males. As morally reprehensible as he may seem, you can't deny that he's hilarious, and a damn good writer to boot.

:::He started his blog in 2003 after his friends suggested he post his crazy stories of blacked-out debauchery online. Through the popularity of the blog, he's landed two book deals (the first one, I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell, was a NYT bestseller), a movie deal out of the first book, and possibly TV development deals. The Duke Law grad is basically a genius-level dude who does all kinds of dumb shit, but doesn't apologize and makes money off of his sometimes near-death and always ridiculous social mishaps. Kudos!

:::Tucker Max is actually one of the reasons I finally decided to sit down and start my own blog after months of thinking about it. Not that I expect to get anything out of doing one; but who knows! I'm already the human-AP wire for my friends and family, and I read up on anything and everything news and culture related anyway. So thanks Tucker! Click here to read his hilarious stories and all kinds of priceless life lessons!

Arrested Development: The Movie!

:::Yes, yes, yes! The studio gods have been throwing this idea around for months, and they finally gave FOX's critical darling Arrested Development the green light! Lindsay, Tobias, George Michael, and Maeby are coming together with the show's writer/director Mitchell Hurwitz to bring the hilarious and far too underappreciated sitcom to the big screen.

:::No doubt the recent success of Sex & the City's jump to the theater has a lot to do with it; they're even talking about a Friends movie! What the shit! It's one of my fave shows of all time, and I would def pay to see the cast reunited, but do you actually think it'll be good? Whatever, I'll be there anyway. As for AD, I can't wait! Jason Bateman is phenom!

Ass Clown of the Week

:::You MUST listen to this! It's been going around email, YouTube, and the blogosphere for a little while now, and it is absolutely hilarious! This Dimitri character has won the honorable title of Ass Clown of the Week for his toolish, douchy voice message on some girl's phone. The first message sounds like he's interviewing her for a job; the second one just sounds like he's threatening her! What a crazy fucktard! Anyway, listen for yourself:

"STEPBROTHERS" OPENS JULY 25th!!!

:::OK, I know the last few Will Ferrell movies have all been the same, and that I'm totally bias [I mean I'd pay to see him read the back of a cereal box]. BUT, Stepbrothers looks hilarious! Will + John C. Reilly = comedic gold ["Shake & Bake!"]. The movie poster speaks for itself. Loves it!!!

Fahim Anwar

:::OMG this guy is hilarious! His first video "Afghan Wedding" was a hit on YouTube, with Afghans and non-Afghans alike. Months after I saw it, I went back and checked out some of his other vids and his stand-up. This kid's gonna be big, mark my words! I mean, I totally called Will Ferrell's hugeness back in like '97, so CLEARLY I know what's up....LOL.

:::Check out "Blind Date" below. Understated, but fantastic. "You can just open the door and barrel-roll right out!" LOL! Search his name on the Tube and you can see the rest his stuff.....you're welcome.
